FocalHub provides a Software as a Service (SaaS) platform for Virtual Reality website building and hosting. Its customers use pre-built spatial website templates as a starting point and drag and drop elements to create customized Web VR (Three.js) enabled venues for e-Commerce, Entertainment, Education, Communication and Collaboration.
I provided consulting creative direction to help define, design and produce a “Squarespace for VR” product, enabling a wide range of users not accustomed to building interactive 3D environments, to create, manage and publish their own VR presences online - natively on all web browsers and mobile devices.
I developed both the standard 2D web app UI/UX, as well as conceiving and visualizing an intuitive means of rapid VR experience building by utilizing user-customizable “space templates” based upon archetypical venues defined by use and users.
I led scoping sessions to determine core functionality, including: e-commerce tools, analytics, heat-mapping, content and asset-management, produced wireframes and functional prototypes for user testing.
